Dear listener,

AK Press is a veritable institution here in the radical fringe, and when they said they wanted to do a “best of” me CD, I was thrilled. The AK Press collective chose most of the songs from recordings I made between 1998-2002. I put them in some kind of order and added three more from some “previously unreleased” tracks I just recorded one day earlier this week with my 12-string.

I think it’s particularly cool that an operation like AK Press, mostly involved with books, should take an interest in doing stuff with music. To me it’s more affirmation that music has a power to have some kind of impact on society. Like a well-written expose can, but different. If we’re going to influence society – the hearts as well as the minds – I think we need lots more of all of that.
